Rustom Mody | FIRES Oral History Project

Rustom Mody, born in 1953, from Poona, India, is part of the Zoroastrian community and settled in Houston, Texas. Rustom reflects on his childhood experiences growing up in a Parsi colony, describing memories of his parents and loved ones. Rustom tells us of his first days in Oklahoma, coming to the U.S. for education in engineering, and shares specific moments he remembers of his time as a student in the U.S. In addition, we learn about his wife, Dr. Dina R. Mody and children, and his perspectives on being a Zoroastrian in the U.S., and how he instills his parents’ values in his children, grandchildren, and professional spaces.
